Camelot Beach in North Cyprus

Despite its dubious name and previous management, Camelot Beach has improved dramatically since a new management team were employed in 2004 to run it. Situated in Alsancak, in the heart of the Ancient City of Lamboussa, Camelot, a former Roman fishing harbour, still exudes its historical charm. The breakwater ensures calm waters in the shallow, horseshoe-shaped bay, making it an ideal beach for non-swimmers and children alike. There are plenty of opportunities for snorkelling here, especially around the rocks which are rich in marine life. There are a variety of motorised water sports there and, unique to the island, a bungee-trampoline. The sun beds are very well spaced out ensuring a little privacy whilst sun bathing, which is quite a luxury in Kyrenia, in the usually packed summer months. The restaurant provides an excellent choice of dishes and overlooks the picturesque bay. Further improvements which have been undertaken in 2005 should be seen, raising further the standards of this relatively new comer to the beach scene.
